Higher education is the norm, and many women continue working after marriage if the family agrees.

Tatar brides
Tatar brides come from a Muslim people at the heart of European Russia — university-educated, often working, and raised inside families where modesty and marriage are still taken seriously.
The Tatars are a Turkic Muslim people whose homeland is the Republic of Tatarstan on the Volga, with Kazan as its capital. Most young women you would meet here have a degree, speak Russian and often English, and hold a normal professional job.
Appearance varies widely, because the Volga has mixed peoples for centuries: dark-haired and dark-eyed, but also blonde or light-brown hair with grey, green or blue eyes. Many do not cover their hair; many do. Neither tells you how religious or how strictly raised she is.
Tatar upbringing is quietly strict. Girls are raised with clear limits about behaviour, reputation and family honour, and those limits hold even when a young woman dresses in a contemporary way and works in a modern city.
This surprises foreign men. A woman may look entirely European and still expect a courtship conducted through her family, with marriage as the stated aim and nothing physical before the Nikah.
Not through a catalogue. A trusted introduction, her family's awareness, patience over several months, and at least one visit to Kazan are the normal path.
If that sounds slower than an app, it is — and it is also the reason these marriages tend to hold.

Parents and grandparents remain close, and their opinion of you genuinely matters.
Islam shapes daily conduct and marriage expectations, even where it is not worn visibly.
